Bandwidth Break down from 1500 GB to x Mbps
Hello,
I am wondering for example
If a data center has an ad as follows;
1U/4U
1500 GB Transfer
Power Included
5 Dedicated IPs
(What is the actual speed when your connected?)
1U/4U
5Mbps (95th Precentile @ 10/Mb) on 100MB port
Power Included
5 Dedicated IPs
I understand the percentile thing. But wondering for example if I had 1500 GB Transfer will it be slow than the 5Mbps. Can you break it down for me, the conversion so I can understand this better? Thank You in advance for your help.
Solution: Bandwidth Break down from 1500 GB to x Mbps
Yes, 1500GB isn't related to "bandwidth" - the term is misused really.
Your service is on a 100Mb/s port, and they are saying 95% of it will move at 10Mb/s but the 5Mb/s at a minimum. This isn't something they would set, they are just giving you an indication of the speeds you can hope to attain given their pipe bandwidth and contention with other customers.
