in

isc bind install w2k8 x64

I downloaded isc bind version 9.6.1.-p2, at this moment latest stable release
to install on a new server, w2k8 64 bit
running the BINDinstall without an error, but no folders are created, no files copied to the right location. the service is created, but won't start because named.exe isn't in
 c:\windows\sytem32\dns\bin\
I manually created those folders, but ran the installer again, but nothing is copied
I then logged on as the administrator trying to install. no errors in eventvwr

did some searching but couldn't find an answer
anyone has a clue?

Solution: isc bind install w2k8 x64

Quick question for you -

Why are you installing BIND on a w2k8 server?  2008 has the DNS server available.  Is there a reason that you need to have BIND instead of Windows DNS running?
