cisco call manager express

Hi experts,

I'm pretty new to the VOIP environment in our office and the reception needs to know if we could put a voice mail / out of office message on the phone when the office closes next week.

i went into the call manager express gui and go no idea where to start. Search around and people are talking about utility express? What is that? How do i know if i have it? Could someone teach me a simple way to setup the phones so that all calls on that day will either be voice mail recorded or worst case senario is to play a recorded message. Thanks so much.

Regards,

H

Solution: cisco call manager express

Cisco Unity Express (CUE) is a so-called "service module", a hardware module in some Cisco routers.
To check for a CUE module, either look for network interfaces pointing to service-engine0/0 in the management GUI, or check for the command "service-module ip address xxxx xxxx" in the configuration.

If you have one, you can record messages in the module's mailboxes when configured appropriately.

Without a CUE module, you can record a message on your PC, encode it and upload it to the routers flash. Then play it with an auto-answer script. For further details look for "BACD" in the Cisco documentation.

Good luck!
