Multiple Routers with comcast
Right then.
This is for my home.
I have comcast internet, with one router setup across the house.
I want to put another router in this room to hook up various game systems to, and have two routers and a few 10' cat5 cables, rather than having one router and a few 200' cat5 cables snaking through the house.
So, is it possible to have multiple routers?
Both would be plugging into a basic cable port in the wall.

Solution: Multiple Routers with comcast
Hi Zlord1,
Are you saying that you want to connect two cable internet routers to two different cable connections? I expect that this would work, but you may have to pay for two internet connections, since comcast is going to see you as two routers and not one.
As an alternative, you should be able to run one 200' cable from where the current router is to a hub or switch where the game stuff is, then plug in the game stuff to the hub or switch. If your router only gives out one IP address, you may need something to do some NATing so that you can have multiple, private IP addresses inside you network and the internet sees your network as one device.
Hope this helps,
Alan
